Focusing is a tool, a simple and soothing method of tuning into the bodily energy to unlock what is stuck
there, those old or recent emotional sore spots that block your inner flow of energy.
Focusing can bring you the answers to deeply rooted questions and it helps you love and accept yourself. It
gives you access to your inner wisdom as a way of moving forward in your life. Not a therapy
in itself,
Focusing is used worldwide by many therapists from many different schools as an essential helping and shifting
process.
Why?
What is happening during Focusing?
Most of us are aware that every life experience somehow stores some energetic memory in our body. Even when the
event is gone, we keep on carrying its emotion, we still feel its physical impact on us.
Situations that are particularly painful or emotionally important can still affect us when the actual experience is completely
forgotten.
Even when the "problem" has been solved, our body sometimes keeps reaching for similar situations, re-enacting
the emotion. The body memory stays in the way, preventing us from fully living in the present moment.
Instead of using all sorts of techniques to try to push the pain away or not feel it anymore, in Focusing you
actually invite "it" to tell you what it is calling you for. When a shift occurs, you can feel an immediate physical and psychological
easing. You feel freer.
Focusing prepares the ground for a renewed readiness
to move on with your lives.
The more you get in touch with your inner truth,
the better you can align
with your physical and human environment.
When? When do you need a Focusing session?
You feel uncomfortable
You have butterflies in the stomach, a "ball" in the throat,
a needle in the heart, a knot in the guts: you do not feel really well, without quite knowing what is going on…
It is time to focus. Your body is "calling" you to tell you something.
Why not listen to it?
You are worried
There is something or someone you cannot stop thinking about, you feel
anxious, angry, resentful, sad or grumpy, maybe you know why but you are stuck in it. Stop for a moment to find out what is blocking it
inside you…

How? The process of Focusing
Many people can tune inside quite naturally. What is amazingly effective is to do it consciously and to
interact with what is there.
The process is rather simple with a bit of practice. It usually takes around half an hour for a full session,
during which you remain attentive, ready to learn something you do not know yet about yourself.
In the same way that it is easier to remember dreams that you have told to someone about, it can be easier to
focus with a focusing partner, a listener or a guide chosen by yourself, to avoid drifting or getting into daydreaming.
But Focusing remains your process: by constantly checking inside you, you decide on what you are going to
explore, how much you will say. The guide/listener is there walking that path alongside you, holding up a safe and supportive space where
you can be with yourself in a gentle way, helping you stay grounded in your bodily experience.
